1. GEDA transport platforms for people and materials Our transport platforms do not need to be equipped with a base enclosure. Safe operation is guaranteed by the low speed, death man's control mode and the safety stop. It is sufficient to install 1.1m high mechanically locked lading level safety gates with a three sided protection. |
2. Hoists for people and materials and transport platforms with enclosed platform

For these hoists you need an electrically surveyed low enclosure (1.1m high). This means that if the door is opened the platform cannot be made leave the base unit or that the machine stops. For additional protection you can install an underrun protection. The low landing level safety gate (1.1m high) is mechanically and electrically surveyed. This means the platform cannot be made move or stops if the landing levels gates are not properly closed. You have to keep a minimum safety distance of 0.5m to the building. |
3. Hoists for people and materials (e.g. according to EN12159)
Currently valid international regulations prescribe that a 2.5m high electrically and mechanically locked base enclosure has to be installed. This means the door of the enclosure can only be opened when the platform is in the base unit.
The electrically and mechanically locked and completely closed landing level safety gates make it possible to make the hoist move without any distance to the building. It can only be opened when the hoist is in front of one of the levels.
As an alternative, you may use the low landing level safety gate (see 2). But this means that you have to keep a safety distance of 0.5m to the building.
